About Us

StopSmartMeters.ca is a group of informed British Columbia citizens concerned about privacy, security, health, civil rights and cost implications of the ill-conceived, BC Hydro wireless “Smartmetering and Infrastructure” program.

Board of Directors of StopSmartMeters.ca

Chris Anderson is a semi-retired EM radiation testing technician and EMR remediation consultant. He has a business background in radio frequency technology. Since the 1990′s he has equipped himself with courses and equipment in order to conduct home/business assessments as to EMR/EMF conditions and ways to improve the safety of environments from an EM radiation perspective.

Dennis Shaw is a retired BC teacher who operates a small organic farm on Vancouver Island. He is determined to add a permanent element of direct democracy to our dysfunctional system of representative democracy.

Hugh Hinskens is a network and system administrator with a B.Sc. in physics and a diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology who has engineered microwave detection and measurement instrumentation. He is using his experience and knowledge to inform and support those who wish to assert their fundamental rights to choose their level of exposure to microwave energy and prevent the theft and sale of their personal data.

Jim Smith (media contact) is semi-retired in Nanaimo with two grown children (not at home) and a loving wife. He holds two degrees in engineering and worked for 25 years in “Corporate America”. He has become increasingly alarmed at the growing influence that money and power is having over our governments at all levels. His key motivation is to continue to defend the basic rights and freedoms that his father fought for during the Second World War.

Walt McGinnis is an electrical contractor specializing in making the built environment safe from the harmful effects of electromagnetic radiation. He is also dedicated to protecting the democratic process from corporatism.
